There is no real drive to share, but there is some pride (it's the kool-aid) in his allegiance, so:] Meridian. [Which might explain his earlier philosophical question after hearing Yusuke is sitting in Zenith.]
You don't strike me as someone who often jumps at chances of working together.

Do I strike you as somebody who's got a death wish? [i mean..........] If you're trying to make an argument, make one.
[He's still not clear on what D actually wants from him, and it's making him antsy. (Because D must want something from him, right?) If it wasn't to lecture him on Meridian, or to pick a fight with him, or to recruit support against Oblivion, then what?]

D wasn't threatened, as he didn't mean Yusuke any harm anyway, but it's endearing, a part of who Yusuke may be.]
Many on each side are wary about working together. Before we had all been asleep, there were two attacks on each faction which had sown some hostility between us all.

He tilts his head a little at that moment of scrutiny— returned amusement, maybe a dare to call him on it— and then mentally adds D to his growing tally of people it might be fun to fight someday, if an opportunity were ever to present itself.]
Yeah, I heard. [Well, he heard more directly about the attack on Springstar, but it's not like details about Meridian's retaliation are hard to come by in Highstorm.] Not like we gotta be buddy-buddy about it, though. Acting like it ain't a problem just because of that is stupid.
[That's easy for him to say, though, having shown up not only after the rise in hostilities but a hundred years after. He doesn't even really blame people for being wary, just for.............. being stupid about it.]
