2) It probably would indeed take a bit too long for Manon to be able to tell the full story (because other characters will be asking questions too), but if it sounds good to you/for the Drama of it, John can be the one in the process of asking a question when the interruptions come around! That way there's extra incentive for him to go and track Manon down in particular and get the hell away from the more dangerous situation.
