Wouldn't it be better, if they could find their way toward an answer openly? If there were not books and tomes, and information to push them forward? Would it not be better, to know the origin of this land? To know the why, so they could find their way forward?

She disliked it. She wanted to fix it. She wanted to find a way to solve this problem, and the story was so obscured. She hated being in the dark.

Even something about the history would be preferable. Why we are here, why this place is the way it was, where did this blight come from? How fast did it spread?

We have...inumerable questions, and so few answers.
