(voryn parts with a rare laugh, short but genuine.) Hah, indeed they are. In this instance "realm" should mean "plane." It is a myth in my land that the architect god who designed the mortal plane, Mundus, fled from his final duty of becoming a piece of it. His escape tore this hole in the sky, creating the sun.

(thinking of the placement of his own shard at the centre of his forehead, voryn wonders if the garlean "third eye" has similar myths surrounding it.)

It is wise to fear magic. While it can do endless good, it can also do endless bad... It is coveted by those without natural talent for it and hoarded by those who were born with strong aptitude. Wars have been waged over it, and they will be again. (while he speaks, he scans a selection of books, grey hands clasping at the small of his back.) Is it your belief that this "third eye" gives you something that others do not? They offer extraordinary sight or some degree of enlightenment, do they not?
