The grip on his sleeve doesn't help. He knows he's going to play himself and the fact that he could, should, would let go of the civilian and face him himself, whilst working Lottie as an actual hostage.

Except he has no more time to think because he does see, half a second too late, two hands grabbing the opposite arm—his armed hand, of course, he'd pat himself on the back really— and pulling him right into the mirror, head first, with a slam.
The reflection cackles and shows up in another mirror. 'Really, tell the kid to scram. Out of sight, out of mind, right? Or are you afraid she'll end up like the rest?'
His shades glitch.

He shakes his head, using his cane to hold himself upright. That he can see those words tells him that at least the frames shielded some of the damage, though he feels the blood coursing warm down his temple.]
