[Vander understands the knee-jerk reaction of wariness upon running into other Shard-bearers around here. With the mindset that a lot of folks have brought with them to this island in the first place and the fact that it presents the first real source of opposition for the two factions, it was always best to be prepared. The thing is, a big guy like Vander didn’t have too much to worry about on that front when first running into people. There’s only a small portion of the Zenith he’s on edge about (one in particular that he’s, worryingly, seen no sign of yet), and not a lot of folks are going to take a look at him and immediately start itching for a fight.
Not so much the case for what appears to be a very frightened kid, though. The shattering of glass immediately pulls his attention away from the still-unmoving Atirat in the other room, head whipping to the end of the hallway to see the cowering figure half-hiding around the corner. They’re not someone he recognizes, but hardly a worry for him in this moment. The stuttered apologies and downcast gaze draws concern to his face, brows furrowing.]
Hey, it’s alright. No big deal.
[He raises his hands placatingly, taking only a single step forward. Maybe not much help if the kid won’t look up at him, but he wants to make it clear there’s no threat from him.]
Sorry if I gave you a fright. Let me help you clean that up.
