Say they're fine, and he might take that as a reassurance that they can take more of their 'time' being stolen. Say they're doing poorly, and that'd make them an easy target. For a brief but awkward pause of time, their brain goes into overdrive overthinking the simple question he'd posed to them, before they swallow thickly and take another half-step backwards, strongly considering running away. ]

He'd surrendered pretty quickly, but it's plain as day he has a weapon on him regardless - and they're no stranger to abilities that don't require a weapon to activate. So where does that leave them?
