[The thing about being a hundred and twenty-three is that Liem has to think about it for a second when Matt tries to confirm what exactly his age is. He’s very much reached the point where he has to take a moment to try to remember if a hundred and twenty-three was how old he just turned, or if he was that age last year and he should be older now.]

One hundred and twenty-three, [he confirms after only a slight pause. Then he adds, a little dryly,] Flattered though I am by the comparison, I’m not a celestial body.

[He’s a living man, and his age gets further from one hundred and eight with every passing year.]
