Hmm... Your clothes? It's not a bad idea.

[He can tell those at the palace to be open-minded, though adopting the local dress would go a long way to familiarising her to them.]

I can take you to the guest chambers to get changed, but let me just do a quick check for any Shards first.

[He moves over to the throne to examine it. He can't sense that nagging pull here, but if a world were to protect its shards anywhere, surely the seat of power would be the best-defended (if perhaps most obvious) place to hide such things? He checks the throne, behind it, under it, until the king on his hands and knees peering around is the one starting to get the odd looks from the guards. Had he dropped something earlier, perhaps?]

--Ah, kind of. If you see any weird-looking pieces of rock lying around, let me know. It's a long story, but they're important.

[He doubts they'll be able to help much when they can't feel the pull like he can, and he doesn't know how much this world itself wants to keep the shards hidden and will do its best to keep them that way. Still, he gets to his feet and thanks the guards, leading Hayame from the room.]

Pretty fancy in there, right? [He dusts himself off, smiling, once the doors are closed behind them once more.] On most days I'd spend hours there receiving audiences from all across Almyra and beyond. It's a big kingdom, bigger than all of Fódlan put together, which means a never-ending list of requests and problems to attend to... but I feel like little by little, things were getting better for everyone.

[And he doesn't speak of it as a burden, so much as something wistful. He took the throne because he wanted to, because he wanted to make amends for his father's failures, because he had a vision. Not a day has gone by since where he hasn't thought about how much he should be back here, his world and his people saved.]
