[Yeah, Chloe should be fighting just as hard as everyone else in search of these world Shards—and to her credit, she’s done plenty of digging around in some of the other locales. But by this point, she’s already getting tired of this whole song and dance. There’s no way she can let herself give up and half-ass things, but fuck. She needs a break.
There’s something calming and familiar about going to the coast and away from people. It comes with a fair amount of homesickness that was frustrating and painful to contend with under normal circumstances, and here it’s only more complicated. It’s still a comforting reprieve though, enough that she doesn’t even mind when she realizes she’s not alone here at the beach.
With a sigh, she lowers herself into the sand to sit alongside the other woman. Her gaze lingers on the water stretching before them for a moment before she turns her attention back this stranger, an eyebrow raised at the bottle.]
It sounds like shit. [A beat, then she’s holding out a hand for the bottle.] Lemme try.
