[What Rin offers her is a valuable thing indeed. Her soul in crystalline form, sparkling deep and red and full of untouched depths in her hands, the innate gleam concealed beneath the haze of Discord. It is intimate, and vulnerable, skin to gem. But-]

I do not wish to inspect this one.

[They are talking not of their own souls, which cannot be denied certain nature as they "live" and breath and talk, but of the shards Yima had gifted them and the ones they had "found". The ones that some Meridian claimed were fake, or wrong, that they could only rely on their senses to determine. Rin's shard... Kiritsubo puts back in Rin's hand. And though she, too, was too (afraid) (jealous) cautious to put her oni lover's shard in another's grasp, let alone the practicality of digging it out...

She does reach into her pouch and pull out a different shard. One that looks like a beautifully pale, smooth opal. One that, if she takes it, will seem cold and delicate to the touch.]

What is it that you feel in this... ?

[Would it be Konnosuke? Even with the risk of shattering... if he had been the one to do that to Kiyoami's shard, if he had ruined five hundred years of pain and effort and scheming and smiles, then as much as she loved that man...

He could shatter.]
