dreamflowers: (the woman who wanted to be free)

[Filtering herself is not something Jade has ever excelled at. Most of the kids she'd met she knows for a fact have heard much worse than anything that comes out of her mouth, but this place? It's a little more uncertain.

[Either way, her reputation is hardly a factor that even crossed her mind here. The fact that anyone would care which side she chooses hasn't quite sunk in just yet. Maybe she's just been compartmentalizing, trying to focus on one thing at a time. For now, it's helping these kids any way she can, even if she has to do a hundred more runs to make sure they're fully supplied and safe here.

[So she approaches the walls while she talks, familiarizing herself with the area and pinpointing what could use some work and how. The "how" is always important.]

Honestly, I consider that more admirable than anything else. Those who strive for perfection will never be happy until they've destroyed themselves or everything around them. Or both. Sounds kinda like what Zenith's all about, for the most part.

[Her back is turned to Yuri when she speaks, her voice low and contemplative.]

My world is a bloody mess, but I think it at least deserves a fighting chance to get better. Not to fade away in a sad, whimpering death.

[Calia helped her see that. And Jade wishes she had even an ounce of that woman's drive to make the world a more bearable place. This world -- all these worlds -- would have had a better chance if someone like her was summoned here, instead of Jade. But there's no point in wallowing in her futility, is it? That's just how it's always been.]
