When it comes out, he thinks for a moment about stabbing it back in a few times for good measure. But with how fast the wasp is taking off even with him, he opts to instead use the dagger to hack the leg off above his head. He will at least have the dagger no matter how the wasp retaliates.
The severed leg releases him, and he plummets back to the petals of the flower. The wasp has lost two legs so far, and it has taken a bit of a beating from now two miniature adversaries. It's deciding whether it wants to keep being feisty, or make a swift retreat. D brandishes the dagger in front of himself.
The wasp finally decides neither of them are worth readily available nectar, so it turns to speed away.]
