[ Amazing what a change in perspective (or size) can do to make a puddle look like a full sized pond. Probably muddier than most ponds by virtue of how shallow it is, but there wasn't any time to concern himself with the cleanliness of the water. A little muddy water on him was worth the risk to escape the ants.
So without a second of hesitation, Atsumu leaps forward and canonballs right into the water, surfacing a second later with a gasp of air, before frantically swimming further into the puddle.
God he's got to hope he's right about the water hunch, because he's not sure he can out-swim the ants the way he was doing okay outrunning them.
He isn't, unfortunately. Ants absolutely can swim, but it's not like water is the ideal place for them to be, so they've both got to hope that the ants will still be deterred by the effort and risk it takes to go after them. ]
