It should be okay... I think. There were a lot of boulders where I grew up, but flowers still grew around them.

[ Maybe those were flowers adapted to that terrain... but it's not like they know what kind of seedling they have now, so it's a bit pointless to guess at what its special needs will be. Besides, she likes the idea of it having a friendly neighbor to keep it company. Gray isn't so sentimental that she thinks a rock or flower could feel loneliness, but it puts her a little more at ease to picture them together.

And now I'm going to say that there's a little trowel stuck in the soil of the seedling's pot so that they don't have to run for one. Gray delicately extracts it so that she can begin to dig up a spot a couple feet away from the boulder. ]


Did you keep plants when you were in space, Mr. Amos?

[ Spaceships have to get their oxygen from somewhere, right?? She's never taken a chemistry class, she doesn't know how these things work. ]
