[The odds are - astronomical, aren't they? An incalculable and miraculous outcome in this nexus of the lost. Perhaps even here, there's some purpose that unites them. Or Ciel, like Caren, has already wondered how it was her soul and not another that was pulled through time and space, and for what reason.

She looks at the grand illusion again, its fidelity and aura inspiring a mix of awe and unease that quickly neutralize.

Really? [The question is asked mildly, but she doesn't sound surprised.] That man's power is astounding [In a different life, they would not indulge him the way Ciel does now. It isn't anything beyond comprehension - not yet - but it is jarring to so tepidly accept it as a public display.

But the knife cuts both ways. There's no need for clandestine words between them, either. She can let her honesty also be a sign of good faith, and it's much easier to speak plainly in the shadow of the Church, even if it is an illusion.
] It is bold, but how else would we meet?

I'm obviously no Executor. [To Ciel, her lack of suitable constitution must be quite obvious, doubly so when she's dressed as she is now in civilian clothing.] I served with the Cistercians, in exorcism. [A counterpart, in some ways - hunting within where the Executors operated without.]
