Only one person ever really stayed with me.

[ His expression smooths out; it's the truth, and now that he's thinking about it, Amos isn't entirely sure if he's... happy with that. ]

She died. I don't mean when all our universes died and whatever; I mean I knew she died and I went back home to make sure it wasn't foul play. That was it though. Not like I reminisced about the times we spent together or anything.

[ He blinks, looking over Paul's shoulder — past him, at an indistinct point in the distance. At nothing, something dawning on him before he comes back to himself. ]

Should I do that? Remember how being with her made me feel? 'cause if I can't mourn her, then I don't think I'll be able to mourn anyone.

[ Even though he has mourned her — but unable to recognize what grief actually felt like, it never seemed like it to him.

And even though his crew deserves to be mourned, too, he's pretty sure. It's just such a tall ask, but breaking things down like this might make it attainable after all. ]
