Even if that's true... it still seems odd. Our Shards are like our souls. So what are these people being given if they already have their own souls? I've been worried that the Shards are being harvested in a way they shouldn't.

[ Of course, she doesn't have any more proof than Kaeya does, but she does know that nothing is taboo. In the name of money or power, it wouldn't surprise her at all if someone was going around and ripping Shards from their Bearers. ]

I did meet someone who said he found a Shard from among the Tree's roots. He said it was a blessing upon him, but from the way he acted, he seemed to know something was wrong about it.
