It clicks. He's heard part of the story; he knows there's more to Kaeya than it seems at first glance. That he's someone who tries to hide how he really feels about things, and is practiced enough to succeed. It all points to some things that are deeply, deeply wrong — and things that he wants to alleviate as best he can.

Except where Amos normally doubts his abilities, there's a calm certainty to him. He's identified the problem. He can do this.

He kneels down, exposing part of himself to the sunlight filtering in the alley. Hood remains up. Gets on Kaeya's level, eyes meeting his. ]

[ Between the simplicity of his answer, the gravity with which he says it, and the part where they share an emotional bond, Amos is pretty certain Kaeya will get the message this time.

I'm with you. It's not always gonna be simple like this. Shit's gonna crop up, like me not knowing what to do with this magic I got in me or some tree monster deciding it can fuck with us, but that's not gonna make you any less my friend. [ He holds out his hand — for Kaeya to take, for Amos to use to help him up, whatever. ]
