[ Their trek into Alenroux had revealed many perils. Some of their encounters have been with small monsters and others with fearsome beasts. It prompts the question: Why is it worth risking the shards of so many for the return (or destruction) of one single shard?
Nonetheless, his allies fought.
He arrived on the battlefield in time to see the beast retreat into the forest and his two allies beyond saving. He attempts to heal their wounds regardless but it is of little consequence. Now all that remains is to find the beast and its shard. He would need to go into the forest by himself to find it.

The soft hum of the shard they search for is some distance away. He follows that thrum to the edge of the forest - and to a rather unexpected sight. Instead of the creature, he sees the warrior woman. She's injured and lying there as though she may give in to her wounds. How ironic that he would encounter her in need of help once more.
He speaks clearly so that his presence is known. ]
