[ The tail's still a new one for him, so while its flick catches Amos' eye, he doesn't actually know what to make of it. Resetting her stance? Sure. The tail?? He's got no clue.

But it's just for a moment, Amos' eyes drawn back to Hayame's as she speaks. His eyebrows rise slightly; disgusting wasn't what he'd been thinking at all. It is a strong word, maybe too strong. But it does help cement for him the kind of person he's dealing with — unsentimental, no bullshit, strong, as far as he can tell.

He likes that. Even as he cocks his head at Hayame's unfinished sentence, he can't find a lot of fault in her sentiments. May not agree with all of them. May not care as deeply as she does. (Isn't lonely at all, but there's no reason for that to come up.) ]

No point living in the past. [ He's agreeable, amiable. Smooth tone, a quiet stream just existing with no strong feelings one way or another. He isn't passing judgment on anyone using the reflecting pool, he just straight up doesn't understand it, and it's nice to finally — finally — meet someone else who doesn't, either. ] All we got is to move forward, right? Don't really understand what they're doing if they're not doing that. Kinda just seems like a way to make yourself miserable.

[ He shrugs. ]

If you even got anything worth revisiting at all.

[ Which, Amos actually would — if he were the type to be able to get something out of it. He's not, though. So it's all just... pointless. Baffling, and this is his first chance to actually question any of it out loud. ]
