It takes him comparatively longer to recover even with the help of sleep.

A while later, Emet-Selch cracks his eyes open and seems instantly offended by the bright light, as made obvious by a low grumble. (Did the light get brighter as he dozed?) He buries his face in Hythlodaeus' shoulder to hide his face.

He doesn't say anything right away; no 'good morning' or the like as it takes him a few moments to put together what had happened. Once he does he asks, "Why are we on the side of the street." The question is muffled by the presence of his friend's shirt.
