Even as he clenches his teeth at the pain of the vines constricting Childe resists. He digs his heels into the ground when he's pulled along and outright resists the dragging even as he has no choice but to still be ultimately dragged further into it. His thoughts are less panicked and more annoyed, however— annoyed how weak he is without his vision, without his abyssal abilities. Once again he's shown power really does seem to be worth everything.
The Harbinger is dragged from his thoughts suddenly by feeling the weight around his midsection and stunned when he hears Vander's voice. What's this old man doing? Is he seriously trying to get him out instead of focusing solely on the monster?
Who would ever think he's worth dying over trying to save? This sudden confusion clashes hard with the painful reality in front of him facing this creature while in its grip. The vines hurt and despite his best efforts to make it more difficult for the monster to crush his hands he's aware that he can't stop it. As for Vander... ]
