But there's a celebration going on and apparently it means discounts and sales of all sorts, and being the financially bankrupt man he now is Eustace is willing to tolerate the crowds if it means saving a little coin on food and drink. The latter he mostly eschews, preferring to keep a clear head especially in unfamiliar territory, but the former he scopes out with a discerning eye, noting prices and quantities (and smells and appearance) so that he can get the most bang for his (extremely limited) buck.
He's currently collecting a few meat pastries when he senses it. That familiar Scent™ of one scrungly boymilk producer. No just kidding, he sees Dextera not too far off, gazing at one of the tables laden full of food. Could Dextera just buy his own food, sure, but Eustace already has food and he likes Dextera, so why not share some of his own?
So he ambles over, holding out one of the pastries. ]
