Is that so?

[Although the mask of his expression hardly deviates at all, the words that slip free of Liem's mouth are edged with bitterness. Had he ever been a loyal Meridian shard-bearer, really? Was a loyal man swayed so easily into the arms of the enemy? He had always said, even from the beginning, that he'd joined Meridian for his own purposes. And yet, for some reason, she had insisted on seeing in him something more.

It doesn't matter. He'd burned that bridge when he failed to seek her out after returning from the Tree's embrace. She must have known what it meant — that he had chosen Zenith's promise over her, over her own need to return home. He could hardly blame her for wanting better from him

I am here to finish what I started. The work has not ceased to be important just because I harmonized with Zenith.

[Cetina must have seen that, when he'd returned to her office after the Oracle trial to finally deliver his report; why else would she give him that charter, when it wasn't even her job to reward him anymore? Even if he wasn't steadfast to Meridian's cause, he did still believe in the development of Alenroux. The work he did here was one of the only things he still had to actually care about.]

But if you find the sight of me so objectionable, then what, Hayame, are you doing here?
