The present and future should not be sacrificed for the past. As tragic and painful as I believe all of the Shard Bearers' grief to be, resources are always finite in measure. If their worlds are to be saved, then what must in return bear the burden of the results of that choice?

But perhaps I should ask this of you instead as you are currently Meridian. Do you not feel compelled to save these people and this isle? Is this not one of the places that should be brought back from the brink of destruction?
