You are correct in that I am taking that chance away from him as well as his ability to make different choices in the future.

[ Said without remorse or guilt. Being a ex-deity means Zhongli has not qualms playing god when it suits him. ]

But it was Mr. Tibbs who broke the social contract first. And there are consequences to that. As living beings of this planet that have the ability to significantly affect one another, there are things that cannot be tolerated or we all fall to disorder and chaos. And this—

[ And the Communion widens for a moment to encompass the entire cavern under the roots of the dying Tree. Seeps above the surface of scorched earth to the abandoned cities of Highstorm and Springstar. Looks from on high at the ruins of Kenos. ]

—is the one of many potential fates that could await all of us.

Might I ask you this in return? If Mr. Tibbs were to be spared by imprisonment or beholden to a fate as those gathered here see fit...

[ Which honestly might be a worse fate than death with some of these suggestions floating around but that is not the point. Probably. ]

...and he were again to cause harm to the people of Kenos, is the imperative that we are not fit to decide to make an irreversible choice worth the risk to those people?
