[ with the communion walls all down he can certainly tell. It hurts Childe's head, adding to the pain of an already formed headache.
Not many people would like this place. It's honestly amazing they haven't already gone insane from being trapped down here with the Oracle as is, nevermind all other factors.
Of course, Childe doesn't expect the ritual to make the connection worse and he huffs: ]
Your emotions are noisy. Get a hold of them before they end up snapping and making you do something you regret later on.
[ of course, the Zenith energy keeps Childe calmer than one probably should be able to in his condition. Although he hasn't made his conviction to going back to Zenith, Dimitri will feel that there is someone important there that Childe can't seem to n let go of and doesn't want to leave— but suddenly he will feel through their bond as is if his sleeve is being tugged, a boy no older than six staring up at him with big blue eyes and a smile when he gets the man's attention. A teenage girl, clearly his sister, is then pulling him back some and telling him he can't just run up to random people and get in their personal space like that. Behind her, another boy that looks shy and timid peers from around her curiously.
The youngest boy fusses before running away from his siblings, causing the other two to shriek and dash off after him, away from Dimitri before they disappear and three distinct shards drop to the ground, lifeless.
if I believe that our homeworlds are not gone, then I forsake the shards I have my of siblings and cast them out as fake because they are still out there. (But what if I'm wrong? Teyvat or a new world just like Teyvat, neither matters if they aren't safe and able to grow up like they deserve. )
There's no other reason for him to exist if he can't save his siblings. he's not a hero, he isn't so selfless and idealistic when the odds are so highly stacked against all of them. His whole homeworld being safe or returned: is he asking too much? If he instead asks just for these small innocent souls to be able to thrive in a new safe place, is he more likely to get what he wants?
Childe seems to think so, or at least that it's somehow more likely.
Just before the emphatic bond ends, however, Dimitri will see a young boy that looks similar to but is not the same as the one who tugged at his sleeve. This boy seems more shy like the second boy had been but can't help but want to approach others with a big and encouraging smile. A colorful pinwheel drops into the grass of the vision, and the boy is seen reaching into the murky dark shadows beneath a tree.
Come on! Won't you come home with me? Everyone's waiting.
A little bit more of a tug and it will show the boy clinging to someone's gloved hand as it comes out of the dark shade. It seems to want to hold the boy's hand with even half the conviction as the boy does it but is failing. Still almost fully concealed by the shade, Childe can be seen in full military uniform looking down at the boy with a rather wistful expression.
I can't... just yet.
The boy's smile lessens but remains, giving a small nod. Don't take long or I'll come back out and find you! the child will turn on heel then, letting go of Childe's hand to go over to Dimitri and take his with a big smile. He needs a little more time, but everyone's waiting for you, too! Come on, let's go~!
Dimitri will be tugged and encouraged by the Meridian's presence in the form of the little boy. Childe remains standing in the shadows, his hand dropping from the sunlight and back to his side as he watches them go. Despite this, even after the bond closes with the ritual complete, Dimitri will understand the boy who took his hand then was also the same person that held back from going with them. ]
