[ Oof. The bonk makes Link wince, more from the admonition than any physical impact that it has, and he peeks an eye open just in time to watch Vash remove his (actually very beautiful) Shard. Immediately, Link withdraws his outstretched hand, hiding it behind the thermos as he looks up at Vash with an uneasy frown.
Quietly, he murmurs, ]
I don't even know your name.
[ But it's clear from his expression alone that his resistance is rooted in more than that. No, Link does not feel he can accept this kind of help from pretty much anybody, and especially someone who does not (outwardly) appear to have any Blight infection at all yet. This, from what Link understands of how it works, would change that. He exposed himself to the Blight voluntarily, knowing what would happen and choosing to take those side effects onto himself.
Shouldn't he bear that burden for himself? This man, this mysteriously kind stranger... he's so strong. Thinking more tactically, it would be better for him to keep his vitality, and for Link to keep his Blight to himself. Wouldn't it? ]
