settingup: (uh-oh running now)

[ There is a moment that Atsumu genuinely debates leaving Gen to his fate. If he wants to die so badly at the hands of whatever is out there, fucking let him!

Except Atsumu knows for a fact that monsters are real here, and while he's managed to mangle one to death himself one time, he doesn't love his odds against a hoard of them again if he's completely alone. So with some reluctance, and a lot of muttered insults and cursing, he follows after Gen up until they reach the alleyway.

Then he shuts up for once when Gen freezes up like that. He leans forward to peer over Gen's shoulder at the bloodied boy standing in the alleyway in front of them.

It probably says a lot about Atsumu that he feels a momentary wave of relief to realize this isn't some sort of monster or ghost child after all, though it's short lived as it registers on him just how much blood is on both the boy and the knife. There's a sinking feeling in his gut as he straightens back up with a sharp inhale.

There's something else about the boy that strikes him as familiar too, though with his eyes focused squarely on the boy and not on Gen, it's not clicking into place yet just what that familiar thing is.

Hey, kid? Put that down before you hurt yourself...

[ Or someone else. That heavy sinking feeling in his stomach gets worse as that thought occurs. ]
