She does it because it's how she sees the one thing that grounds her every morning, the one technically 'normal' thing everyone in every universe needs (apparently). She takes a sip of her own cup in time with his, turning her head deliberately away to keep the quirk of her lips out of view because — yeah, hot. 'I told you', she almost says, but he beats her to speaking. ]
