Vash had spotted Vander lightly patting a young, teary-eyed girl's head in reassurance after helping her and her mother free themselves from the overgrowth that had trapped them inside their home like prisoners, and... well, that had been that. Vander had been labeled A Good Guy, and the next thing they knew -- the Bearers were getting sucked into another brewing crisis.
one of the locals was leading the pair a few houses down; this area seems to have developed a worrying amount of growth overnight, Vash notes, the vine-like roots having snakes up and over the outside of several residences like untamed weeds, beginning to sprout buds they all knew were trouble. but the breathless woman ahead of them points toward the front door of her house, already ajar; "he's in the back," she says, and the two of them can hear the sounds of someone upending wooden furniture, screaming a violent, enraged howl of rage, glass and cutlery smashing and clattering over kitchen tiles toward the rear of the house. the woman looks on the brink of tears, wringing her hands together in anxiety and flinching for every new loud smashing from inside.
"this isn't him, he isn't like this -- please don't hurt him," she begs them, trying to avoid breaking down as she looks from one man to the next. Vash reaches out to take her shoulder, giving it a reassuring squeeze before blue-green eyes wander to Vander.
he's sure he doesn't need to say it, but... they should be careful. whoever is inside... they might be dangerous -- to themselves as much as everyone else, a victim of the flower's madness. ]
