Well, Cid certainly seems appreciative of the subject change. He tips his head thoughtfully. "I've wondered about that," he admits with a tone that indicates he's likely spent far too long thinking about it. "My shard was damaged as a result of whatever happened in Horos, and being brought here."

His hand goes to clavicle, though the warm cloak he's wearing covers his shard. "I believe that is the source of my memory loss. I suppose I should be thankful it didn't result in me being even worse off." Mostly covered between the long sleeves and cloak, it might take a bit of looking to see the peculiar scars on Cid's arms, but the lack of him bringing them up gives the impression he doesn't see the two as related.
