Leaving it at that is more than welcome. He is in no hurry to divulge the details of bygone eons. For now, he is satisfied to bask in his dear friend's presence. The presence of someone like him, someone who has had similar experiences and seen the same world.
Avoiding a subject is not what brightens him up most - Hearing Hythlodaeus' approval of his determination lifts his spirits immeasurably. How many bygone days had he pleaded with the Shade of his friend to believe him when he promised to save their people?
"Then let us put other matters aside for now." Although he is hard-pressed to focus on how much he missed his friend in words. Perhaps another path of conversation would do as they continue along the path to the greenhouse.

"Some time ago, in a far-flung world outside of our own, there was a forest that had been abandoned by the outside world. The trees there were so dense that even the natives could lose their way." He peels back a curtain of moss to reveal a trail of light purple flowers covering the ground. "They managed to find a solution flowers, which would lead them to safety without fail." He motions onward. "I find it's a very practical method of finding one's way. Perhaps such a method could be utilized if we find ourselves lost in this new world." So they could always find a way to one another, no matter the distance.
