[It was probably a good call for Sebastian to not bring up his own lack of artistic ability in this context. The exceptions make the rule, Sebby. Maybe demons just aren’t people!
Latent demon prejudice aside, Liem does agree with Sebastian’s sentiment. He probably has some amount of bias against Horos because of the bad memories he has of that place; the months he spent as part of the Regent’s sect were almost uniformly dismal. But even apart from that, the variety of cultures on display in both Highstorm and Springstar are refreshingly fascinating to Liem, whose love of travel back home primarily stemmed from a desire to visit different settlements and explore their idiosyncrasies.]
There are certainly plenty of things to like about this world. Have you been to Springstar? The diversity of architecture there is astonishing.
[It’s a little busy, even haphazard in his opinion, but the effect is still impressive—even if he finds exploring Highstorm a much more relaxing activity.]
And art that exists outside of galleries is always more interesting, in my opinion. Things that are so painstakingly created can’t be fully appreciated without their own use, their own purpose.
