[Liem’s gravitation towards the knife is less related to a love for violence and more about his relatively old-fashioned standards, which dictate that carrying a belt knife around for ordinary, utilitarian purposes is a perfectly normal and even expected thing to do. This one is quite handsome, and although the handle seems rather decorative, the knife itself seems functional enough to serve for everyday purposes, unfashionable though such a thing may be in this world.

There’s just the issue of money. A blade like this is worth more than the pocket change managed to scrounge since arriving at Yima’s manor.

I’m sure the people who gather here take great pride in continuing the artistic traditions from their homelands. The variety in styles is something I wouldn’t normally expect to see except in the largest trade cities back home.
