You spent your life without freedom? Were you a prisoner?

[ Maybe a prisoner of war, or a figure kept under lock and key to ensure the obedience of the masses? Set had taken his fair share of hostages during wars, to ensure the warriors who sought to continue their ineffectual floundering had something important to lose -- he could see this calm-browed young man being a beloved figure in some capacity. Vital to the hearts and minds of his people.

Or, maybe it was a marriage arrangement? Too many variables. ]


I surmise that, because they need us to choose willingly, they cannot simply conscript us and hold us by force. There's also the matter I read about people fluctuating between the two sides, so. We cannot be free from all responsibility to "a side", but we are not entirely beholden.
