It’s the unsaid half of why it’s better for both parties for Sebastian to be treated well in an arrangement, and it’s left unsaid because of how unappealing it could make a Covenant sound. Ciel had known well that for all of Sebastian’s lovely smiles and polite words, he’d pay back any perceived disrespect tenfold. A demon’s grudge was vicious, and it was also patient.

Though he also doesn’t suspect it’ll be an issue for Silco, even so. He thinks Silco likely has a guess that Sebastian wouldn’t actually tolerate disrespect, even if he also thinks he’s unaware of the extent of what that retaliation could mean. And in simpler, practical guesses, Silco is an older man of the clearly criminal elements. You simply don’t survive that long if you don’t treat your people at least decently.
